GrayKnight Chess Association is now organizing and promoting  scholastic chess in the Brunswick,  St Simons Island, & Golden Isle area.
The GrayKnight Chess Association has been around for years. It was created long ago to hold tournaments for my chess students, both kids and adults. When the opportunity came about to do scholastic chess for the Brunswick/St Simons Island GA area I was glad to do it. As for myself, I have been playing in rated chess tournaments since 1973. In 1988, I made National Master. Some of my best tournament victories have been 2 Arkansas Championships, Co-Champion of Georgia once, and Co-Champion of South Carolina once. In 1988 & 1989 I was the US Army Champion and went on to represent the USA at the NATO Championship in Aalborg Denmark. After attending 100’s of tournaments both as a player and a coach, I have come across many tournament directors. I have seen how the best of them hold and direct their tournaments. My plan is to have as professional scholastic tournaments as possible following the rules as best I can and to be fair to everyone! And most important of all…….to let everyone have a great time!! If anyone has suggestions or comments please feel free to let me know. Donny Gray Donny@GrayKnight.net 706-589-8131
